Polyglot Matija Čop Žirovnica institute for tourism and culture

An addition to the Matija Čop exhibition: The Polyglot Matija Čop was created in collaboration with the Žirovnica institute for tourism and culture as part of the Living Legends (ŽIVE LEGENDE) project, which explores and revives the stories of prominent figures from the Slovenian cultural heritage.

A unique feature of the exhibition is a collection of 11 video presentations prepared specifically for this occasion. Each video features "Zdravljica", a cornerstone of Slovenian cultural and literary heritage, translated into one of the languages Matija Čop mastered. Accompanied by explanatory texts, these videos provide visitors with insights into the richness of languages and highlight Čop's exceptional linguistic expertise and his profound love for literature.
